Actions passed by Congress:
In the year 2000 Congress voted to keep the dams in tact
and that they will not be removed. This case may someday be brought back to Congress
because there are many people and environmentalist groups who are still working to get the dams removed. The case will probably not be brought back in the next four years because George W. Bush supports keeping
the dams up and his opinion has a major impact in Congress.
